Today we proudly announced that EnBW EnergyWatchers, an EnBW company, is using JouleX to build a sustainability offering that delivers energy efficiency to its enterprise and industrial customers. EnBW is the third-largest energy company in Germany, who focuses on the electricity and gas business as well as energy and environmental services.
“In considering our own sustainability goals, as well as the needs of our customers, we wanted a holistic and enterprise-wide energy management solution that can be easily integrated into our processes,” said Melanie Bunke, EnBW EnergyWatchers Managing Director. "JouleX’s ability to monitor, analyze and control all IP-enabled devices will help us rapidly and significantly reduce customers' energy gap, an important reason we chose JouleX.”
The energy gap is the delta between the amount of energy that is necessary to productively power devices and systems and the superfluous amount of energy they consume, which results in wasted energy and cost. The new offering, based on JouleX Energy Manager, will now be available for EnBW customers.
"We are very excited that JouleX is now part of the EnBW family of offerings," said Josef Brunner, JouleX Chief Architect and Co-Founder. "This first class engagement with EnBW EnergyWatchers illustrates the importance of energy efficiency to the global economy. Furthermore this offering will help customers achieve long-lasting environmental and sustainability goals."

Juniper today announced the availability of its Junos® Space SDK of which JouleX is proud to be an early adopter. JouleX uses the Junos Space SDK to integrate into the JouleX Energy Manager platform, providing Juniper clients new opportunities to support their sustainability objectives, increase energy efficiency, reduce their carbon footprint and realize significant cost savings through unprecedented visibility into the energy consumption and utilization of all devices connected to their network. The JouleX Energy Manager utilizes Junos Space to retrieve actual energy consumption data from the Juniper switching and routing infrastructure. JouleX Energy Manager remotely monitors each network-connected device and provides a policy/rules engine to actively power-down devices and systems when they are not needed or idle un-productive or under-utilized computing resources. The JouleX reporting and decision support system provides energy management reporting and tracking for energy consumption, carbon emissions, and costs as well as savings by device, department, cost center, division, location and the enterprise.
JouleX applauds Juniper for their work with the Junos Space SDK as it provides clients with tremendous opportunity to gain more control over energy consumption and utilization throughout their data center, distributed office, PC environment and entire enterprise through the JouleX application.
